What We Do
Simply put, our job is building homes in the $500,000 to $3,000,000 dollar range.
But our passion is building unique, historically accurate, highly-stylized homes that are warm, intimate, and elegant. Homes which utilize warm rich tones and materials, varied but complimentary, in balance so as not to overpower the architecture. We dream of homes that challenge our capabilities as contractors, as well as our senses aesthetically. We strive to find purpose in design and construction, preferring to utilize architects who approach architecture as art, who provide a high degree of consideration to space and aesthetic, whose designs are subtle and seamless, and who prefer to create intimacy in spaces as opposed to what sometimes amounts to meaningless expressions of extravagance which seem to curse some of today's homes. We love being part of the team that creates a harmony in space and structure that may not be seen but is always felt. We feel accomplished in our jobs when we stand in a space and it feels good. And we love working for clients who appreciate these same concepts regardless of whether the budget allows us to fully realize all our goals. We love building homes.
With a general focus on Florida's Spanish roots, many of our Speculative homes reveal an appreciation of a Traditional European Spanish style; however, we have also participated in projects which allow us to experiment with French Chateaux, Olde World, Hacienda, English Manor, Contemporary Crossover, and even über Modern styles.
Services We Provide
Complete home-build services for both the home owner and the investor.
- Remodel — In two separate divisions we continue to provide service on large and small scale remodels. We have an established team of laborers allowing us to provide smaller projects with master builder attention at reasonable pricing.
- Consultation — We provide consultation to clients who are building with another contractor and would like advice or representation on contracts, pay schedules, site inspections and other facets of the construction process with the goal of protecting the client's interests and helping the job run more smoothly.
- Design/build — These services allow us to help coordinate design in varying degrees depending upon the client's needs as well as the construction of the home. Benefits include: helping the client maintain schedule, mediating between the Architect and client, translating ideas/language in terms of constructability, cost, and schedule. We provide value engineering and help maintain a budgeted goal to minimize surprises during construction.
- Value Engineering — This is the process of examining all components of construction from construction methods, square footage, room types, finishes, etc., in terms of cost vs. the client's intrinsic value or investment value. This process allows the team to identify discrepancies between cost and value to maximize a return on investment by focusing money spent on areas of high value and reducing money spent on areas of low value.
- Turnkey construction services — Because of our background developing our own projects, we can lend a degree of expertise helping the client through the complete process of construction in terms of cost, schedule, and coordination, including all periphery processes from the big to the small. In a capacity suited to the client's needs, either more aggressively as leader or more passively as advisor, HNR can help in procurement of land, plan design, financing, construction services, procurement of furniture packages, insurance, utilities, and even stocking the home with food and drink.
